Are you a military service member moving to Colorado Springs? If so, you may need a new phone carrier while you're there. There are many phone carriers that offer discounts to military service members, but you have to know where to look and how to get those discounts. Below is information that may be useful during your relocation.
AT&T provides discounts to Active Duty, National Guard, Retired Military, Reserves, Veterans and their spouses. The benefit includes a 25% discount on any qualified wireless plans, including the AT&T Unlimited and More and AT&T Unlimited and More Premium wireless plans.
The discounts can be complicated, but it's important to remember the more services on the bill, the bigger the discount. This includes a $15 discount on qualified video services like DIRECT TV NOW as well as a $15 discount on qualified Internet services.
Anyone seeking to receive their military discount should bring a valid proof of service to a local store and mention the appropriate FAN code. FAN codes are below:
- Military – 4085530
- Army – 2421660
- Air Force – 2421652
- Coast Guard – 2422480
- Navy – 2421954

Sprint offers a discount to National Guard, Veterans, Retired Military, Active Duty and Reserves. This includes discounts through the Unlimited Military plan as well as through Sprint Perks. Service members enjoy 50% off family lines. While the first line costs $60 each month, additional lines cost only $20 per month (whereas they normally cost $40). Each additional line after that is only $10 per month (compared to $20).
Additionally, the Unlimited Military plan also includes DVD-quality streaming, unlimited data, TV with Prime, Hulu and Tidal, unlimited talk and text, 100GB mobile hot spot and global roaming in a variety of locations. Sprint also makes a donation to the Fisher House Foundation for each new military or veteran account.
For those who are deployed, Sprint will enable military members to suspend their service without monthly charges in order to keep their phone number.
T-Mobile offers a discount to military service members of $25 to $35 off each line for up to four phone lines. This discount also includes an hour of in-flight Wi-Fi, a free mobile hot spot, unlimited talk, text and data, SD streaming, 5GB of 4G data in Mexico and Canada, texting and data abroad in qualifying countries, and Netflix.
Verizon provides a 15% discount on monthly plans and a 25% discount on accessories. This includes any government employee, including reserves, active duty, veterans, retired military, their family and national guard. Additionally, military families can take advantage of deals that offer $15 off one line, $35 off two lines or $40 off three or more lines.
