Colorado may not be known first for its wine, but that doesn't mean there isn't great wine to be had in this state. Colorado Springs, the second-most populous city in Colorado, has some great wineries that many people outside of this state may not know about. So, for anyone visiting Colorado Springs, or even those who currently live in the city or may wish to relocate here, it is time to discover some of the best wineries in and very close to here.

D'Vine Wine is a boutique winery in Colorado Springs that imports their quality grapes, handcrafts, blends, and ferments their wine right on location. They even allow customers to make their own custom blend, guiding them through the process. This winery offers wine tastings, wine by the glass or bottle, and even bottling parties for patrons to make their own wine, complete with a custom label, with friends. Additionally, they have wine club memberships that include a 20% discount on all purchases, free wine tastings, 3 releases per year, and more.

Located in Old Colorado City, Vino Colorado Winery is a locally owned and operated tasting room that has been in business since 2014. Complete with a storefront, The Sweet Elephant, this establishment offers two things that many people love—drinking wine and shopping! The storefront even offers coffee, pastries, and a full menu of food to pair with the various wine choices. Vino Colorado Winery has 30 varietals of wines ranging from smooth to sweet whites, moderate to dry reds, Colorado fruit wines, and even different dessert wines.

Drekar Meadery makes Frey's Sail, their flagship mead, simply with water, yeast, and Colorado wildflower honey, which is also the foundation for most of their flavors. Customers can try out the mead in Drekar's tasting room and buy bottles of their products on location or on their website, which ships to most states.
